Flip Over, for better strength

Inversion therapy involves putting your body into a position where your head is lower than your heart. In fact, inversion is a perfect exercise for the body as a whole. Inverting allows the body to recover from the compression effects of gravity and daily activities.
Scientifically, it has been proven to be quite advantageous for the cardiovascular, lymphatic, endocrine and nervous systems. One of the biggest benefits is the relief on the discs of the vertebrae. Inversion allows those discs to separate. This is beneficial to a healthy spine as fresh blood and spinal fluid is absorbed into the soft tissue of the discs, increasing the nutrient content as well as plumping the discs for better shock absorption and flexibility. This in turn reduces occurrences of back pain as well as pressure on the nerves in the spine. You can achieve a lot of benefits by inverting 3-5 mins every day.

Weight lifting enthusiasts and bodybuilders stand to benefit the most from inverting. Consider all the pressure the heavy weights place on the body especially the back during exercises like the squat. Inverting can relieve that pressure, bring fresh blood circulating through all the muscles, which effectively prevents injury and can reduce recovery time.

A great way to incorporate inversion into your physical fitness routine is to take up a yoga practice. There are several yoga postures that place the body into an inversion or a semi-inversion such as dolphin, downward dog, and hull headstand. The great thing is the practice of yoga allows the body to build strength and balance while accomplishing these poses.

Another option is investing in an inversion table. This device allows you to hang upside down unassisted. There are a wide range of these devices available from different brands.

Be aware do not invert for over 5 minutes at a time the excess of blood flow to the head can cause problems.
